NOAX
www.noax.com/
The noax industrial PC S15 is the newest member of the noax Steel Series, specially designed for use under tough hygienic standards. Its rugged, compact design and smoothed V2A (1.4301) stainless steel enclosure protect it against extreme mechanical stress and chemical exposure, such as vibration, shock and acid or alkaline substances. Certified as protection class IP67, without slots and seams, consisting of constant food-safe materials, the S15 computer withstands even temporary submersion. Features include high-contrast, 15-inch touch displays; four LED special function keys and 20 freely programmable function keys; a network card and numerous on-board interfaces for weighing and identification systems. It is also available in 12- and19-inch variants, and an Industrial Thin Client (ITC S15-G2) version, designed as a cost-effective front-end computer for server-based applications in strict hygienic environments. Equipped with an internal solid-state drive and a pre-installed noax ITC operating system for centralized management and configuration, the ITC is optimally prepared for efficient client mode in rough production environments.

HELICA BIOSYSTEMS
www.helica.com
Helica Biosystems Inc. has won approval by the USDA’s Grain Inspectors, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) for its quantitative test kits used in detecting Ochratoxin A (OTA) in wheat. The first of its type to get the GIPSA certificate, the Helica quantitative ELISA assay is easy to use and cost effective with high accuracy and reproducibility. It has a limit of detection of less than 1 part per billion (ppb) with a detection range of 1 – 150 ppb. The test works in a single dilution step with uncomplicated solvent extractions and can be completed within 30 minutes. The kit can be used for manual testing of a few samples to a high throughput automated format suitable for testing hundreds of samples.

ZONEWORKS
www.zoneworks.com
Zoneworks introduces the SCH Series of heavy-duty fabric wall systems to create or reconfigure industrial or commercial space in demanding conditions. Custom-configured to separate functional areas, provide privacy or security, control dust or fumes, attenuate sound, adapt spaces for changing operational needs, or create temporary storage areas, the stationary and sliding curtain walls can be used as interior or exterior walls in virtually any facility. The curtains, constructed with 18-ounce fabric, are fire retardant, meet NFPA-701 standards, are easy to install and maintain, and can be mounted to existing ceiling structure or custom framed for support. Zoneworks SCH sliding walls feature a galvanized track and hanger configuration that incorporates two-wheel trolleys for ease of opening and closing. The sliding curtains feature galvanized vertical control staffs with 5/8-inch drop pins and floor sockets for added stability. Zoneworks also provides on-site design consultation, complete drawings and turnkey project support, including installation coordination.

MOCON, Inc.
www.mocon.com
Mocon recently introduced its beverage instrumentation suite of products highlighting its new OpTech – O2 Platinum, a standard-setting oxygen analyzer using a florescence-based system for measuring total package integrity for both rigid and flexible beverage packages. The platinum “fluoresces” or gives off light in direct proportion to the amount of oxygen present in a package. This fluorescence can be read optically for non-destructive permeation analysis, headspace and dissolved oxygen analysis, and leak determination. Coupled with a bar code and scanner, the technology can also be used to measure and report O2 stability at various points in the distribution channel. The instrumentation product line addresses a broad spectrum of beverage package shelf-life concerns for both rigid and flexible packages, with multiple testing options to help you assure that the intended packaging performance parameters are met.

Idaho Technology Inc
www.idahotech.com
Idaho Technology, Inc. (ITI) has been granted Performance Tested Methods Status by the AOAC Research Institute (Certificate No. 100901) for its E.coli O157:H7 test used with the R.A.P.I.D. LT Food Security System (FSS). The assay uses real-time PCR technology to identify the presence of E.coli O157:H7 in raw ground beef and uncooked spinach food samples.
The system marks a milestone in real-time PCR testing of foodborne pathogens as this platform enables detection of E.coli O157:H7 in less than one hour after only eight hours of enrichment. The validation studies on ground beef and spinach prove that the R.A.P.I.D. LT FSS performed as well as or better than traditional culture methods with faster time to result, and the complete system provides easy end-to-end protocol for PCR-based detection methods, according to the manufacturer. The assay is intended for use by trained laboratory personnel.
