Trader Joe's announced a voluntarily recall of its Creamy Salted Valencia Peanut Butter because of potential contamination with Salmonella.
Customers who have purchased this item are urged to not eat the product and to dispose of it, or return it to any Trader Joe's location.
The FDA, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state health agencies are investigating whether there are direct links between this product and reported illnesses. Trader Joe's is fully cooperating with the agencies, the company said.
The recalled peanut butter was distributed to Trader Joe's stores nationwide.
