Best Sanitizers has introduced its new HACCP SmartStep and HACCP Defender Footwear Sanitizing Stations. The units use an atomized mist of Alpet D2 Surface Sanitizer to saturate the soles of employee footwear before they enter a critical control area. Each employee gets a fresh application of Alpet D2 which means the results are consistent and measurable, the company said. The walk-through design of the HACCP Defender makes it ideal for high-traffic areas, while the compact footprint of the HACCP SmartStep (10”x21.5”x17”) allows placement in multiple locations, increasing protection and reducing risks of cross-contamination, the company added. Either unit can be used individually or in combination to maximize pathogen protection and control moisture throughout the facility.
Best Sanitizers’ Alpet D2 Surface Sanitizer provides coverage when delivered through either footwear sanitizing unit, and, according to the company, it is widely used throughout the food processing industry for sanitizing tools, hard surfaces, and water-sensitive equipment. The 58% isopropyl alcohol/quaternary formulation is a ready-to-use (RTU), no-rinse sanitizer, and is safe for use on food contact surfaces. Alpet D2 is a proven rubber boot and glove sanitizer, is NSF registered, Kosher certified, and Pareve; it kills 99.999% of tested bacteria, including E. coli, Listeria, and Salmonella.

Heat and Control
Integrate a CEIA metal detector with any checkweigher or other in-line equipment with the new CEIA THS/RB-800 system from Heat and Control. At 31.5 inches (800mm) long, the system includes a CEIA THS/SL21 series Slim-Line metal detector, round belt conveyor, optional conveyor speed-sensing encoder, and operating controls, all pre-assembled on a sanitary support frame.
The polyurethane cord conveyor is available in three widths and can be removed without tools. Belt speed and aperture height are adjustable to accommodate a wide range of products. The RB-800 system is available with different CEIA metal detectors for food and pharmaceutical applications, including models THS 21, 21E, 21E-3F, and the MS21 which features CEIA’s proprietary multi-spectrum technology that eliminates product-effect rejects without reducing detection sensitivity.
Standard features of the CEIA MS21 metal detector include automatic learning and tracking of product effects, high immunity to environmental interference, data memory for 500 products, password-protected access by up to 40 persons, records, and signature management compliance with FDA Title 21 CFR Part 11 for data security, integrity, and traceability, the company said. Conformal-coated electronic components, a stainless-steel casing and keyboard, and specialized aperture seal prevent damage from external moisture and internal condensation.
Heat and Control is the exclusive sales and service representative for CEIA metal detectors in North, Central, and South America. For more information and a CEIA demonstration, contact email@example.com or visit www.heatandcontrol.com.
